PlayStation

Is it the PlayStation, or the app you’re opening?

Every service we track is behaving normally right now, so the problem is more likely at your end than theirs. Two questions will narrow it down.

Fixes for the PlayStation itself

On PlayStation, closing an app from the home screen is not the same as quitting it. Do that first, then rebuild the database if problems persist.

Try this first

Close the app fully

about 1 minute
  1. 1.Press the PS button to return to the home screen.
  2. 2.Highlight the app and press the Options button.
  3. 3.Choose Close Application.
  4. 4.Open it again.
Then 2

Power cycle the console

about 3 minutes
  1. 1.Hold the power button on the console until it beeps twice, then release.
  2. 2.Wait for it to switch off completely — not rest mode.
  3. 3.Unplug it for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and switch it on.
Then 3

Test the internet connection

about 3 minutes
  1. 1.Go to Settings, then Network.
  2. 2.Choose Connection Status, then Test Internet Connection.
  3. 3.Note anything it reports as failed.
Then 4

Rebuild the database

about 20 minutes
  1. 1.Switch the console off completely.
  2. 2.Hold the power button until you hear a second beep, then release. This starts Safe Mode.
  3. 3.Connect a controller with a USB cable and press the PS button.
  4. 4.Choose Rebuild Database. It does not delete your games or saves.
