Accessibility
People arrive here frustrated, one-handed, in the dark, and sometimes on a TV remote. That is the design constraint, not an afterthought.
What we've built for
- Status is never carried by colour alone. Every state has a distinct shape and a plain-language label. Colour blindness, dark rooms, glare and cheap TV panels all make colour unreliable.
- Full keyboard operation with a visible focus outline on every control. Press / from anywhere to jump to search.
- Generous touch targets, at least 44 pixels, larger in the diagnostic flow where people may be using a directional remote.
- Status announced to screen readers as words, never inferred from a colour or an icon. The two-question flow announces each step change and moves focus to the new question.
- Everything works with animation disabled. Nothing is load-bearing that moves.
- Automatic updates never reflow content you’re reading or about to tap.
Known gaps
We have not yet completed a full audit with assistive technology on a television, which is a real usage context for this site and a harder one than a desktop screen reader. It’s on the roadmap rather than done.
