HBO Max could not play the video, most often because something in the video output chain rejected it.
HBO Max could not play the video. On a computer this usually points at graphics drivers or hardware acceleration. On a TV setup it usually points at the HDMI chain, because streaming apps refuse to output protected video through a connection they cannot verify. A soundbar or an AV receiver sitting between the device and the TV is a very common trigger.
Try this first
Check the HDMI chain
5 minutes- 1.If the signal passes through a soundbar, receiver or splitter, connect the device straight to the TV instead, just to test.
- 2.Unplug each HDMI cable at both ends and push it back in firmly.
- 3.Try a different HDMI port on the TV.
- 4.If it works when connected directly, the device in between is the problem.
